Jane, Axel's adult daughter who is a lawyer, finds herself in Beverly Hills facing a threat from a corrupt police conspiracy, possibly involving Captain Grant. Axel reunites with his former BHPD colleagues Billy and John, who has retired and unretired to become chief. They share a relaxed attitude towards retirement, reminiscent of the Detroit and Miami police departments, portrayed by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys. Murphy engages in comical chases using various vehicles, and continues to outsmart club doormen and security gatekeepers. While still humorous, Murphy's use of his "white people" voice feels somewhat dated, and his comedic style may need to evolve with his age. Despite this, Murphy's talent could still shine with the right script, relying on the loyalty of his audience.
