On the inaugural day of high school, Benj embarks on a new journey, following in the footsteps of his older sister Alyssa, who has struggled with self-esteem issues at Waymont High. Accompanied by friends Eddie, Danah, and Connor, the group is apprehensive about the challenges posed by older students, particularly the troublemaker Ruby, who has been assigned to assist Benj. Meanwhile, Danah's sibling is organizing a significant party to commemorate the occasion, and her younger brother is eager to participate, but only Benj has received an invitation. He intends to use this opportunity to get closer to his crush, Bailey, who is also a friend of Alyssa. Additionally, Mr. Studebaker, a chemistry teacher, contemplates his presence at the gathering. Meanwhile, Connor and Eddie, feeling excluded from the party plans, embark on their own adventure, which includes picking up a drunken classmate, Katrina, who has intriguing information to share as they attempt to locate her home.
